Hypo Pro Futuro

Lasting Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the areas of social welfare, education and art

In 2011, the charity program "Hypo Pro Futuro" aimed at focusing and coordinating CSR activities of the Bank in the individual markets was consistently pursued. While in 2010, the main theme of the charity project was to improve the prospects of children, education stood in middle-point in 2011.

Promoted were, inter alia:


  • Support of "career centers" of the University of Ljubljana and the Parus-Foundation (Foundation of law students) in Slovenia
  • Supplying an elementary school in Montenegro with books
  • Promotion of mathematic competitions in high schools in the federation Bosnia and Herzegowina
  • Support of the Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka through provision of PCs or traineeships in the Hypo, and sponsoring of the International Scientific Conference REDETE 2011 - "Researching Economic Development and Entrepreneurship in Transition Economies"
  • Sponsorship of the program "Let's travel to Europe" for Serbian students.

In addition, the Bank engaged itself in the field of art. This includes both the issuance of scholarships to talented young artists, just as the organization of exhibitions and events to create a platform for their art.

The many facets of genuine Social Responsibility
With its “Hypo Pro Futuro” charity programme, Hypo Alpe Aria is sharing responsibility for the social conditions in the regions in which it operates. The acknowledgement of the social responsibility that goes with this is deeply anchored in Hypo Alpe Adria’s corporate philosophy. Senior Management has raised the profile and importance of these CSR activities and is playing an active role in many charitable projects.

Hypo Alpe Adria views a conservational approach to nature as being part of Corporate Social Responsibility. In 2010, quite apart from using environmentally friendly building materials and issuing a policy on optimising energy consumption, many different organisational measures were implemented to help protect the environment. An excellent example of this is the installation of video and web conferencing tools, which replaces the need for many business trips. In addition, as a result of new regulations governing car fleet management, only highly efficient and low CO2-emitting company vehicles are now being bought.

“Hypo Pro Futuro” looks to the future
The sponsorship of individual projects is a contribution towards narrowing the gaps in the social safety net. Since 2010, many important projects have already been set in motion which will leave their mark; and many more will continue to follow. All these campaigns, projects and aid programmes have one thing in common: they are an outward sign of the respect and gratitude of Hypo Alpe Adria for the trust shown in the entire banking group.
